Top 3 things I learned at Djangofest NW;
1 – Langley is the nicest of towns with the friendliest of people.
2 – A whole tone scale over a dominant seventh is a funky sound indeed.
3 – If you play Peche a la Mouche on your balcony at the Boatyard, fish will jump right out of the water into your guitar case.

Walk at Double Bluff Park

Beautiful views can be found everywhere on Whidbey Island. One of my favorites ‘Double Bluff Park’ is just a short drive from Langley. Looking south towards Seattle you can see Mt. Rainier and the very small buildings of the city.

What a lovely day for a beach walk.

Paddle Boarding in the Langley Bay

The weather is perfect right now for doing any sort of water sport activity. Stand up Paddle Boarding also called SUP is the newest rave right now. Whidbey Watersports has boards available to rent and launch right out in front of the Boatyard Inn. As a matter of fact that is exactly what I did this morning before coming to work. What’s better than waking up with the sunrise having a cup of coffee on your private balcony and then hitting the water. Sounds pretty perfect to me.

Look how calm the water is. Great conditions for gliding.
